This website is operated by Stallions Direct Ltd (company number 13316190), registered office 30 Torksey Street, Kirton Lindsey, Lincolnshire, DN21 4PW ("we", "us", "SD"). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
2. What information we collect
We only collect what you give us directly, through the forms on this site:
- Contact form — name, email address, phone number (optional), and your message.
- "Find the Right Stallion" enquiry — name, email, phone, details about your mare, budget, and your breeding aims.
- Ordering & Availability form — your name, email and phone, your mare's name, your veterinary practice's details, delivery address and postcode, semen type required, and any notes you add.
We don't use analytics or advertising cookies, and there's no account creation or login for visitors to this site — so beyond the forms above, we don't otherwise track or collect information about you as you browse.
3. How we use your information
We use what you submit to respond to your enquiry, advise on stallion selection, and arrange and coordinate the ordering and delivery of semen — including passing relevant details (such as delivery address and veterinary contact) to the courier, the relevant stud, or your veterinary practice where necessary to fulfil an order. We don't use your information for marketing without your separate consent, and we don't sell or rent your information to third parties.
4. Our legal basis for processing
We process your information on the basis of taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract, and performing that contract (responding to enquiries and fulfilling orders), and our legitimate interest in running the business efficiently and safely. Where we ask for anything beyond this, we'll ask for your consent separately.
5. Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary information with: the courier arranging delivery, the relevant partner stud, and your named veterinary practice, where this is needed to arrange and confirm an order. We don't share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and order records for as long as needed to handle your enquiry or order and to meet our own legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations, after which it's deleted or anonymised.
7. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored on a server based in the United Kingdom. Where a form links you to a specific stallion, page addresses and image files served from this site come from the same UK-based hosting.
8. Cookies
This site does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies. The only thing we store in your browser is a small, strictly functional preference — whether you've dismissed the cookie notice shown on the homepage — kept locally on your own device (not sent to our server) so the notice doesn't keep reappearing on future visits. If that ever changes (for example, if we add analytics in future), we'll update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct anything inaccurate, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for a copy in a portable format. 10. Children
This site and its services are intended for adults arranging equine breeding services, not for children.
